Slow Cooker Kielbasa Bites: Directions

  1. Cut the kielbasa into thick 1/2-inch circles. Put them flat in a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker.

  2. Drop spoonfuls of grape jelly on top of the sausage. Spread it around a little so it’s mostly even.

  3. Pour the BBQ sauce over the jelly and sausage. Don’t mix yet—leave it on top.

  4. Put the lid on. Cook it on LOW flame for 3 to 4 hrs or HIGH heat for 1.5 to 2 hrs. Wait till jelly melts into smooth sauce and sausage is hot and soft.

  5. Stir it all up good so the sauce covers every piece shiny and thick.

  6. Set slow cooker to WARM. Add toothpicks and let folks grab bites right from it. Stir now and then to keep sauce even.

Fun Changes & Tips

Try spicy BBQ sauce or add hot sauce for kick. Use less jelly (1.5 cups) and a splash of vinegar for less sweet. Add pineapple chunks at the end for more food. Mix in cooked meatballs for variety. Serve over rice or noodles for dinner. Leftovers last 4 days in fridge—reheat with a bit of water.
