This Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala is soft, juicy chicken cooked slow in a warm, spiced tomato sauce. It gets extra creamy with a splash of cream at the end. It’s an easy dinner that needs little work but tastes like a takeaway favorite. Perfect with rice or naan!
Ingredients
- 600g chicken thigh pieces, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, cut into slices
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 2 tbsp tikka curry paste
- 400g can of chopped tomatoes
- 150ml double cream
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh coriander, for topping
Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala: Instructions
- Put the chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, curry paste, and chopped tomatoes into the slow cooker.
- Mix it all together until the chicken is covered on every side.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker.
- Cook it on low flame for 6 hrs, or on high heat about 3 hours, until the chicken is soft and fully cooked.
- A little before serving, pour in the cream and add the garam masala.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
- Let it sit for a few minutes so the cream warms up nicely.
- Sprinkle fresh coriander on top.
- Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
