Ingredients

Cornmeal → 1 cup

All-purpose flour → 1 cup

Sugar → 1/4 cup

Baking powder → 1 tbsp

Salt → 1/2 tsp

Milk → 1 cup

Large eggs → 2
-
Melted butter → 1/3 cup (additional amount will be added to the skillet)

Vegetable oil → 1 tbsp
Skillet Cornbread: Instructions

Activate the oven, and preheat it to 400 deg F (200 deg C) and put a cast iron skillet into the oven to preheat.

Cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt are mixed in a bowl.

In the second bowl, oil, butter and eggs are mixed with milk.

Add the wet ingredients then stir up the mixture.

Wipe hot skillet dry, insert a small amount of butter in it and swirl.

Add into the hot skillet and smooth out the batter.

Bake until brown and clean tooth pick in the cake- 20-25mins.

Allow to cool a bit, cut and eat.
