Ingredients

  • Spaghetti → 400 g
  • Olive oil → 2 tbsp
  • Onion, finely chopped → 1 medium
  • Garlic, minced → 3 cloves
  • Ground beef → 500 g
  • Tomato sauce → 2 cups
  • Tomato paste → 2 tbsp
  • Sugar → 1 tsp
  • Dried oregano → 1 tsp
  • Dried basil → 1 tsp
  • Black pepper and salt to taste → as needed
  • Water → 1/2 cup
  • Parmesan cheese (Option) → Grate cheese

Old-school spaghetti: Instructions

  1. Prepare the spaghetti in salty boiling water in package instructions and drain.
  2. Heat a large pan with a medium heat. Add olive oil. Add some onion and cook until soft and then add some garlic and saute.
  3. Added ground beef and cooked until it is brown and broke up.
  4. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Simmer the sauce (15-20 minutes) to a thick rich sauce.
  6. Add spaghetti that has been cooked to the sauce and mix until it is fully covered.
  7. Garnish with Parmesan cheese, when you feel like it.
