Old-school spaghetti. A classic hearty spaghetti recipe with rich beef tomato sauce, aromatic herbs, and simple pantry ingredients, delivering comforting flavors perfect for family meals anytime.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti → 400 g
- Olive oil → 2 tbsp
- Onion, finely chopped → 1 medium
- Garlic, minced → 3 cloves
- Ground beef → 500 g
- Tomato sauce → 2 cups
- Tomato paste → 2 tbsp
- Sugar → 1 tsp
- Dried oregano → 1 tsp
- Dried basil → 1 tsp
- Black pepper and salt to taste → as needed
- Water → 1/2 cup
- Parmesan cheese (Option) → Grate cheese
Old-school spaghetti: Instructions
- Prepare the spaghetti in salty boiling water in package instructions and drain.
- Heat a large pan with a medium heat. Add olive oil. Add some onion and cook until soft and then add some garlic and saute.
- Added ground beef and cooked until it is brown and broke up.
- Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Simmer the sauce (15-20 minutes) to a thick rich sauce.
- Add spaghetti that has been cooked to the sauce and mix until it is fully covered.
- Garnish with Parmesan cheese, when you feel like it.
