Amish Poor Man’s Steak Oven Baked 4-Ingredient. Just pour cream of mushroom soup over raw beef patties and add 2 more simple things in a glass baking dish — and you get a warm, filling dinner that everyone will love!
Serves:: 4

What You Need
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1 pack dry onion soup mix
How To Make Amish Poor Man’s Steak
- Turn your oven on to 350°F. Spray a big glass baking dish with cooking spray so food won’t stick.
- Put the ground beef and the onion soup mix into a bowl. Use your hands to mix them together. Don’t mix too hard — just enough so it all comes together.
- Split the beef into 6 or 8 equal pieces. Press each piece into a flat patty, about as thick as your finger.
- Place all the patties in the baking dish in one flat layer. Leave a little room between each patty.
- In another bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup and the milk. Mix until it looks smooth and looks like gravy.
- Pour the soup mix all over the patties. Make sure every patty gets covered with the sauce.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil. This keeps the steam inside so the patties cook all the way through and stay soft.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. The beef should be fully cooked with no pink inside. If you have a meat thermometer, it should say 160°F.
- Take off the foil and bake for 5 to 10 more minutes. This makes the top of the sauce a little thick and golden.
- Wait 5 minutes before you start eating. Spoon the mushroom gravy over each patty and serve it nice and hot!
