Poor Man’s Fiesta Drumettes 4-Ingredient Slow Cooker… Toss raw chicken wings in the slow cooker with 3 pantry goodies for a super tasty fiesta meal that feels like a party!
This 4-thing slow cooker poor man’s fiesta pre-party food gives big taste with tiny work. Put raw chicken drumettes right in the pot with three easy basics from your kitchen. It makes a saucy, colorful dish that seems like it cooked slow on the stove all day. Think cheap Tex-Mex snacks from fun Midwest get-togethers—lots of flavor, pretty colors, and saucy chicken for plates or wraps. Just dump it all in, leave it, and return to food that vanishes quick.
Put the fiesta drumettes straight from the slow cooker with warm flour or corn tortillas, chips, or white rice to grab the juicy sauce. Add quick canned black beans (drain, rinse, heat up) and a fresh green salad with lime dressing to finish the plate. For pre-party snacks, keep the pot on warm. Give small plates, lime slices, chopped lettuce, and cheese so friends make their own little tacos or nachos with the chicken.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds raw chicken drumettes, patted dry
- 1 jar (15 ounces) of chunky salsa, choose mild, medium, or hot
- 1 can (10 ounces) of chopped tomatoes with green chilies, with the juice still inside
- 1 (1-ounce) packet taco seasoning mix (about 2 tablespoons)
Poor Man’s Fiesta Drumettes: Directions
- Put the raw chicken drumettes in the bottom of a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Spread them even. It’s okay if they touch a little; don’t pack tight.
- In a medium bowl, mix the jar of chunky salsa, whole can of diced tomatoes with green chilies (with juice), and taco seasoning until blended good. This makes your fiesta sauce and adds the bright veggie bits around the chicken.
- Pour the salsa-tomato mix even over the drumettes. Coat all pieces lightly. Spoon some chunky veggies between them.
- Cover with lid. Cook on LOW 5-6 hours, or HIGH 2½-3 hours, until drumettes super soft and hit 165°F inside (74°C). Don’t lift lid early to keep heat steady.
- When done and sauce bubbles, taste it. Add salt or more taco mix if needed. Stir gentle to cover drumettes without meat falling off bone.
- Set slow cooker to WARM to serve. Spoon saucy drumettes on a plate or right from pot. Ladle colorful veggie sauce on top. Have napkins, small plates, and sides ready.
