Steak and Green Bean Packets Slow Cooker

Slow Cooker Steak and Green Bean Packets. My aunt taught me this easy recipe a long time ago. You only need four things to make it, and it comes out so yummy every time! You wrap everything up in little foil packets and let the slow cooker do all the work. The steak gets really soft, the green beans stay a little crunchy, and there’s tasty butter sauce inside each packet. The best part? You don’t have a lot of dishes to wash after dinner!

What You Need

(Makes 4 packets)

  • 1½ pounds boneless steak → cut into small chunks
  • 12 ounces fresh green beans → ends cut off
  • ½ cup salted butter → melted
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs

How To Make Steak and Green Bean Packets

  1. Step 1 – Get your stuff ready
Get out your slow cooker. Cut four big pieces of thick foil, each about 12–14 inches long. If your foil is thin, use two layers so nothing leaks out.
  2. Step 2 – Mix the butter
Stir the Italian herbs into the melted butter in a small bowl. This tasty butter will make the steak and green beans taste really good while they cook.
  3. Step 3 – Build your packets
Put some green beans in the middle of each foil sheet. Then pile some steak chunks right on top of the beans.
  4. Step 4 – Add butter and close them up
Pour some of the herb butter over the steak and beans in each packet. Then fold the foil over the top and press the sides shut tight so nothing spills out.
  5. Step 5 – Put them in the slow cooker
Stack all four packets inside the slow cooker. It’s okay if they sit on top of each other a little bit. Just don’t push them down too hard.
  6. Step 6 – Cook them
Cover it with the lid and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours. The steak should be soft enough to poke with a fork when it’s done. Check at 4 hours if your slow cooker gets really hot.
  7. Step 7 – Let them rest
Turn off the slow cooker. Let the packets sit inside for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then use tongs to take them out carefully — they are very hot!
  8. Step 8 – Eat up!
Put a packet on each plate. Open it slowly because hot steam will come out. Pour the yummy butter from inside the packet over your steak and beans. You can add a little extra melted butter on top too if you want. Enjoy!
