Korean Ground Beef In Slow Cooker

Korean Ground Beef In Slow Cooker . Asian Inspirations: Only 5 ingredients. Ground beef has never been this good–it is sweet and savory and it is perfect on rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80-90% lean)

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder)

  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil

Korean Ground Beef: Directions

  1. Over medium heat in a large skillet, crumble and brown the ground beef until all of the pink disappears breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Wipe off excess grease, where necessary.

  2. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic and toasted sesame oil in a small bowl and whisk until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. Put the cooked ground beef in the slow cooker, and use a spoon to break up any large lumps.

  4. Add the soy sauce mix into the beef and then stir until the meat is fully coated.

  5. Bake either on LOW or HIGH 2-3 hours or 1-1 1/2 hours, until the spices have blended and the sauce has thickened a bit. It is possible to stir once or twice during cooking.

  6. Add and add seasoning where necessary–add another teaspoon or two of brown sugar in case you feel like it is too sweet; add a splash of water in case it tastes too intense.

  7. You can eat the Korean ground beef hot with rice or with whatever kind of sides you like to eat by pouring some of the sauce over the top.
