Korean Ground Beef: Directions
-
Over medium heat in a large skillet, crumble and brown the ground beef until all of the pink disappears breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Wipe off excess grease, where necessary.
-
Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic and toasted sesame oil in a small bowl and whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
-
Put the cooked ground beef in the slow cooker, and use a spoon to break up any large lumps.
-
Add the soy sauce mix into the beef and then stir until the meat is fully coated.
-
Bake either on LOW or HIGH 2-3 hours or 1-1 1/2 hours, until the spices have blended and the sauce has thickened a bit. It is possible to stir once or twice during cooking.
-
Add and add seasoning where necessary–add another teaspoon or two of brown sugar in case you feel like it is too sweet; add a splash of water in case it tastes too intense.
-
You can eat the Korean ground beef hot with rice or with whatever kind of sides you like to eat by pouring some of the sauce over the top.
